   Audiovisual Technician

Employees work as audiovisual technicians in the Entertainment sector of the industry.

Qualification Information

CORE UNITS (5 required)
  • Follow health, safety and security procedures
  • Operate audiovisual equipment
  • Provide first aid
  • Repair and maintain audiovisual equipment
  • Prepare, rig, test and modify audiovisual equipment

  • Work in a socially diverse environment
ELECTIVES (3 required - select from)
  • Apply Occupational Health and Safety requirements associated with restricted electrical work
  • Assist in producing scenic art
  • Assist in stage managing the production
  • Attach flexible cords and plugs to equipment connected to a single phase 250 volt supply
  • Install sound equipment
  • Install staging elements
  • Locate and rectify fault in equipment connected to a single phase 250 volt supply
  • Perform routine manual metal arc welding and/or gas metal arc welding
  • Prepare, rig, test and modify lighting equipment
  • Repair and maintain lighting equipment
  • Repair and maintain sound equipment
