   Assistant Sound Technician

Employees work in the radio industry involving the production and transmission of programs with a focus on sound. Employees may conduct some technical maintenance for remote area broadcasting operations.

Qualification Information

CORE UNITS (2 required)
  • Develop and apply industry knowledge
  • Follow health, safety and security procedures
SPECIALIST UNITS (6 required)
  • Check, maintain and repair equipment
  • Edit sound using analogue systems
  • Record sound sources
  • Edit sound using digital systems
  • Mix sound sources
  • Operate a studio panel
ELECTIVE UNITS (3 required)
  • Identify industry laws and regulations and apply them to workplace activities
  • De-noise soundtracks
  • Install, align and test sound equipment
