   Digital Artist

Digital artists use computer graphics software, digital photography technology and computer assisted painting to design artwork and/or layout in the film, television, radio and digital media industries. They often work in a collaborative environment and usually have five or six projects 'on the go' at any one time. Please note: Change in this field is constant so the software used is constantly evolving.

Qualification Information

CORE UNITS (3 required)
  • Develop and extend critical and creative thinking skills
  • Work effectively in the screen and media industries
  • Follow occupational health and safety procedures
ELECTIVE UNITS (10 required)
  • Provide services on a freelance basis
  • Develop screen and media specialist expertise
  • Create visual design components
  • Create 3D digital animations
  • Create 3D digital models
  • Select and apply drawing techniques and media to represent and communicate the concept
  • Create storyboards
  • Create digital visual effects
  • Prepare 3D digital models for production
  • Create titles for screen productions
