   Collections Management Assistant

Employees lead work teams and assist with collection maintenance, recording, acquisition/disposal, reporting on the basic condition of the collection and creating and using databases.

Qualification Information

COMMON CORE UNITS (4 required)
  • Develop and apply knowledge of the museum industry
  • Implement workplace health, safety and security procedures
  • Promote team effectiveness
  • Implement preventive conservation activities
ELECTIVE UNITS (9 required)
  • Move and store cultural material
  • Prepare display accommodation for cultural material
  • Record and maintain collection information
  • Create and use databases
  • Observe and report on basic condition of collection
  • Acquire/dispose of cultural material
  • Develop and implement procedures for the movement/storage of cultural material
  • Work in a culturally diverse environment
  • Integrate accessibility principles into work practices
